Session Guidelines
Please read the guidelines below before finalizing your booking.
Group Sizes, Configurations, and Poses
Because this is a larger backdrop, we can accommodate multiple humans and pets in one photo. Photos can be of just pets, just humans, or a combination of both. However, each session is limited to a maximum of 4 configurations and/or poses.
Fee
Portraits are $25 for the first image, and $15 for each additional image.
All proceeds from Pet Portaits go towards the cost of care for the 7,500+ pets in Lawrence and Douglas County provided by Lawrence Humane annually.
Example Scenarios
Example 1: Two adults with two pets and one child want to get one family portrait of everyone, one portrait of just the pets, one portrait of just the adults and child, and one portrait of just the pets and the child. This will result in 4 professional portraits for a total cost of $70.
Example 2: Someone with two cats wants to get an individual portrait of each cat and one portrait of the two cats together. This will result in 3 professional portraits for a total cost of $55.
Example 3: Someone with one dog wants to have portraits taken of just that one dog, but in 4 different outfits and poses. This will result in 4 professional portraits for a total cost of $70.
Multiple Bookings
If you would like to have more than four configurations and/or poses during your session, please fill out a second Photo Session Booking appointment.

We have two photo sessions scheduled:
~ Thursday, June 18, 6pm - 8pm
~ Saturday, June 20, 11am - 2pm
Each booking is 10 minutes long.

Scheduling
To book a photo session, select a session time below.
Day-of-Photo-Session Logistics
Please arrive at the Lawrene Humane Society at your scheduled session time and wait in your vehicle with your pet. There is no registration table for check-in, so we ask everyone to stay in their cars. When your pet is next to be photographed, you will be notified via phone using the number provided on your registration. Please keep your ringer on so that we can call and/or text you! If we can't get ahold of you, we'll move on to the next person in line.
Although your pet will have a scheduled appointment, please expect that a short wait time could occur. We will do all we can to run on time, but we want to take time to ensure that each pet has a positive experience, so some sessions may take a little longer than others. We appreciate your patience and assure you that we will be as thoughtful and patient with your pet as we are with everyone else's.
Delivery of Photos
Portraits will be delivered in a digital gallery sent to you using the email address provided on your registration. Images can be dowloaded in both high resolution for print, and in a social media friendly format. Edited images will be sent to you no later than EOD June 30, 2026.
The link to your individual digital gallery will be emailed by either our Executive Director, Shannon Wells, or our Chief Development Officer, Elina Alterman.
